MIME:
The multi-purpose Internet mail extensions specification describes a means of sending non-ASCII data (such as images, sounds, foreign symbols, etc.) through e-mail. It commonly utilizes bcode. For example, HTML files have a MIME-type of text/html, JPEG files are image/jpeg, etc.
