Computer Acronyms

Any information given to a Web browser by a Web server. When you enter a Web site which uses cookies, you may be asked to fill out a form providing such information as your name and interests. The browser stores the "cookie" in a text file. Each time you revisit the website, the "cookie" is sent back to the server to identify you and possibly prepare customized Web pages for you. For example, instead of seeing just a generic welcome page you may see a welcome page with your name on it.
